GM HAS NEW SAFETYFEATURE
General Motors will be the first in the industry tointroduce a center airbag. The new airbag serves a multi-functional safety rolein several different crash scenarios. When only the driver is present, it helps cushion them from impacts that occur on the passenger-side. When both the driver and a front-seat passenger are present, it cushions them from impacts on either side, serving as a barrier to keep them from being whipped into each other. In the case of a rollover, the airbag is also expected to help protect the occupants. The new airbag deploys from the right side of the driver’s seat and fills the space between the driver and passenger. This feature will be standard on all 2013 Acadias and Traverses with power seats and on all Enclaves.

Q&A
Question: Some of the perks offered to US hybrid vehicle owners include tax breaks, free parking, and high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane passes. What was the first state to implement HOV passes for hybrids?
Answer: California. These perks have, unfortunately, provoked some resentment among non-hybrid owners stuck in the standard vehicle lanes. It is the hybrid vehicle's low emissions, more than its mileage rating that qualifies it for this privilege.
